Driver/Yard Labourer Vacancy
We are recruiting for a Driver/Yard Labourer to work at our Trafford Timber Centre, based in Stretford. 7.5 ton or (3.5ton considered)
Drivers/Yard Labourers are a vital part of the team. You will be serving customers and undertaking general yard duties, you will also ensure that the working environment remains safe at all times.
You will be visually inspecting your work area and surrounding areas for good housekeeping all throughout your day. You will assist the team in achieving targets and requirements in manual loading, unloading, sales orders, storing and handling of materials by hand and FLT, as defined by your manager. This role can be physically demanding so please bear this in mind before applying.
A current CPC certificate and taco card required for 7.5 ton driver application.
All required training will be provided for the successful candidate although previous experience within the timber industry, manual handling & knowledge of health & Safety requirements in a timber yard would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of a team, as well as on their own initiative. You are required to have the ability to overcome problems. The candidate should be committed, hardworking, have the willingness to learn and to develop new skills and working practices. You would also be required to have excellent attendance and punctuality levels.
We would expect the candidate to comply with all company rules, policies and procedures, also to adhere to the company’s Health and Safety Policy and the wearing of PPE where required. (The company will provide all PPE required)

You must be able to work the following hours:
- Monday to Thursday 08:00am – 17.00pm
- Friday 08.00am – 16:00pm
- Plus two of three Saturdays 08:00am - 13:30pm
Rate of pay is currently set at the government’s national living wage for over 25years of age. This will be reviewed at the company’s discretion.
